How We Begin
Birthed in Yishun
We lived and worked in northern Singapore, where Yishun, like many HDB towns, had its share of schools—twenty-two in total. Beyond daily routines, we felt a stirring to reach out. How could we keep driving past these schools as if they didn’t exist in our social landscape?
Another lamp post. Another bus stop. Another school.
Could we relate to them, support those in need, empower and encourage the marginalised? Could we simply do something? From these questions, Cape of Colours was born.

“
Cape of Colours started helping me with financial support since I was Secondary Two. It helped to reduce the financial burden of my family, and gave me the ease to be like any other student, to be able to focus on the things that I needed at my age. I don't have to worry about money all the time. They did not require me to perform well for my studies or life, all they did was to give with no strings attached.
As a foreign student who studies in Singapore, my family and I are indescribably grateful to be able to receive such help. I wished more needy students can also receive this help that I had undeservingly gotten, in which I would like to play a part in.
